Education and training

Cornelia’s theoretical training covers an important part of the legal field, in civil, commercial and social security matters, thanks to the educational institutions she attended: National Institute for the Training and Improvement of Lawyers – title of final lawyer, Bucharest Bar Association – title of trainee lawyer, Romanian-American University, Faculty of Law – graduate.

Professional experience

Cornelia’s professional activity in the field of Romanian law, accumulated in more than 13 years of practice, encompasses a multitude of legal institutions in civil law, commercial law and labour law, thanks to the many lawsuits in which she has been involved and the constant legal advice to important national companies in various branches of the Romanian economy.

In the area of civil law, the cases dealt with a number of challenges by individuals to protect their rights and legitimate interests: actions to acquire ownership by usucaption, proceedings to obtain a prefect’s order for land in use, actions to claim land, actions for partition, actions for partition, actions for divorce, actions for custody of minors, actions to recover debts, challenges to enforcement, etc., while the advisory work covered a number of other issues: debating inheritances, negotiating and concluding contracts, amicable debt recovery, setting up associations and foundations, etc.

In the area of commercial law, the cases covered all aspects of the establishment, operation, organisation and termination of companies: activities relating to the establishment of companies, activities relating to the increase or reduction of the share capital of companies, actions relating to the exclusion of shareholders from the company and their liability to pay damages, actions relating to the challenge of resolutions issued by the commercial registry offices, actions relating to the recovery of debts, etc., while advisory activities covered all areas of a company: customer and supplier relations, debt collection procedures, dissolution, merger or division procedures, company takeover procedures, etc.

In the field of labour law, the lawsuits concerned relations between employers and employees: challenging dismissal decisions, obtaining damages for damages caused by unlawful dismissals, reinstatement of employees, etc., while the consultancy activities concerned the internal dimension of companies: negotiating employment contracts, assisting in negotiations on termination of employment, amending internal regulations, etc.
